Sponsoring children in need is breaking the cycle of poverty.
Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.
Founded by the Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training.
Today, Compassion helps more than 1 million children in 25 countries.

Haiti Earthquake
On Tuesday evening a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Haiti, the strongest in more than 200 years. Two aftershocks of 5.9 and 5.5 magnitude came minutes later. Many homes and buildings easily collapsed including hospitals, schools and government buildings.
Communications have been completely disrupted, making it difficult to get a full picture of the devastation.
Al levels of Compassion staff are aware and working to get the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Thank you for your consideration and prayers during this dire situation. Anything you can do will add tremendously to our efforts as we work to bring much needed help and relief to the children and families devastated by this crisis.
